Learning Neelakantha Meditation
Neelakantha Meditation is easy to learn and practice. It is a seated, eyes-closed practice that uses a mantra. It does not require that you have any particular beliefs, any previous study, or any specific background in order to learn and practice it. Many people who have had difficulty meditating in the past are surprised at how easily and deeply they can meditate after learning Neelakantha Meditation.
When you learn Neelakantha Meditation, you will learn not just the practice, but also some of the greater theoretical context behind that practice. Knowing the theory of the practice will support and guide your own ongoing practice—and as you practice over time, it also helps you understand the theory of the practice more fully.
I am currently teaching Neelakantha Meditation on a one-on-one basis, so there is no need to wait for a special event or weekend to learn to meditate. If you are interested in learning, we can simply find a time that works for both of us.
Learning Neelakantha Meditation is a formal process, and it usually takes place over two or three days:
Essentials of the practice
Initiation (formal, personal instruction)
About 2.5 hours
Part 1 is a relatively short and focused day so that you have time to meditate at least once or twice on your own before the instruction continues.
Theory of the practice
Establishing a regular practice
Answering any questions
About 4.5 hours
Part 2 topics can be covered in one day with breaks, or over two separate days as suits scheduling needs.
In these two or three days of instruction, you will learn everything you need to know to be self-sufficient in your practice and have a meditation practice that will benefit you for the rest of your life! However, there is also a lot of support available as you continue to practice.
You will receive 18 months of ongoing support in the form of teleseminars and access to an online library of resources and FAQs provided by Blue Throat Yoga. If you find you want to learn yet more, there are advanced courses and levels of practice available through Blue Throat Yoga. After three months of regular practice, you are eligible to attend Blue Throat Yoga’s Vibrating Silence retreats, a wonderful opportunity to deepen your practice and meet other people practicing Neelakantha Meditation.
